Licensed Professional Counselor
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and am a National Certified Counselor. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Florida State University in Psychology with a minor in Child Development in 2005. During the time I worked on my degree, and volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) in Florida. My duties were to advocate for abused and neglected children that were in the system. I provided assessments and recommendations to the court. In 2005, I also worked with the Redland Migrant Association in a Hispanic community conducting surveys, visited schools; spoke with teachers, staff and children’s parents. During these meetings, I translated documents and served as an English/Spanish translator. In 2009, I earned my Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University. My internship was done at the Department of Labor doing face to face intakes, eligibility, case management, audio logical testing and evaluations for the deaf and job placement and development. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. In 2013, I became certified as an Anger Management Specialist. Currently, I am working on my PhD in Psychology from Capella University and am expected to graduate in 2017.
I have worked for different agencies and private practices in Georgia doing bio psychosocial, individual, group, and couples counseling. Also, I have done treatment planning and clinical note and crisis interventions. I have over five years working with children and adolescents, adults and couples of all ages. My experiences are with LOCUS/CAFAS, MICPS, SMART treatment plans, Bio-Psychosocial assessments, BIRP clinical note, DSM IV diagnosis, case management, crisis intervention strategies.
